Reflection about the guestspeakers

On Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 we had several guest-speakers in our aviation-lessons.

On Monday(Sept. 30) a very experienced pilot from Air Canada came to us and told us about his work, how he got his job and what we can and should do. He tried to do it in a funny way and to make his lesson kind of interactive  He talked to us, asked questions and showed us, how we should present us. He told us that later on, in a job in aviation, communication will be very important and gave us a few simple and funny examples what can go wrong by it. Also he advised us, that we won't get our dream job directly, and that a no isn't definite and we should always ask, what we will have too improve to get this job. This he learned in his live, where he had to do a lot of different things, before he got pilot, but he finally got, because he never gave up. I think he did a great job, he filled this lesson in a funny way, and I took a lot out of it that will help me later on. He brought us his messages in a interesting way, so I stayed with it and took what he said.

On Tuesday(Oct. 1) then we had Director of Flight Operations and the Program Coordinator from Coastal Pacific plus the Chief Flight Instructor from Chinook Helicopters in our lesson. This day wasn't that important and interesting for me, because they mostly talked about job abilities in Canada in the aviation sector, and up to now I don't plan to immigrate into Canada, also because the Program Coordinator from Coastal Pacific told us that the job abilities outside Canada are better then inside. Another thing is that they just told us something about them and their company while we followed them and their presentation. So it was still interesting and a nice event for me, but not as interesting and helpful for me as the lesson before.
